Pregúntale: "Which questions were difficult for you?" y observa el patrón:

  • 1–3 bien → comprende mensajes principales.
  • 4–6 mal → dificultad para identificar información específica.
  • 7–8 mal → problema de vocabulary/collocations.
20–28 min 🎧 Listening
"You will hear each recording twice. Read the questions first. Then listen and choose the best answer."

Listening 1

What time will the girl meet her friend? A. 4:00 B. 4:30 C. 5:00

"Hi Anna, it's me. I know we said four o'clock, but I've got a piano lesson until half past four, so I won't be free then. Let's meet a bit later — how about five o'clock instead? That works much better for me, so I'll see you at five."

Listening 2

Why can't the boy go swimming? A. He is ill. B. He has homework. C. He has to visit his grandmother.

"Hey, just letting you know I can't come swimming this afternoon like we planned. I'd really love to, but I can't make it — I have to visit my grandmother. My parents are taking me there straight after lunch, so I'll be busy all afternoon. Sorry about that!"

Listening 3

What did the girl buy? A. A jacket B. A pair of shoes C. A backpack

"So, I went to the shopping centre yesterday. I actually wanted to buy a jacket, but the ones I liked were way too expensive, so in the end I didn't get one. Instead, I found a really nice pair of shoes and bought those. I'm happy with them — I think they look great!"

"Hi everyone. Here's some information about Saturday's school trip. We are going to the science museum. The bus will leave school at eight thirty in the morning. Please arrive at school fifteen minutes before the bus leaves. Bring a packed lunch because we won't stop at a restaurant. The museum has a very interesting space exhibition, and we'll have some free time to look around after the guided tour. We expect to arrive back at school at about four fifteen."
4. The group is going to the __________ museum.
5. The bus leaves at __________.
6. Students should bring a __________.

28–40 min ✍️ Writing
"Now you have 12 minutes to write an email. Try to write around 80–100 words. Don't use a translator or dictionary."

Tarea para la estudiante

You have received this email from your English friend, Sophie:

Hi! I'm going to visit your city next month and I'm really excited! What's the best place to visit? What can I do there? And what should I bring with me? See you soon, Sophie

Write an email to Sophie. Remember to answer all three questions.

Ejemplo: "Grammar: difficulty with past tense, third person and basic sentence structure."

🟢 3 fortalezas

  • 2. Third person -s — "he go", "she like" en vez de "he goes", "she likes".

"Last class you did great — especially in reading and listening! Today we're going to work on something specific: talking about the past correctly, and connecting your ideas so they sound more natural."
3–15 min 🧠 Past simple

go → wenthave → haddo → did see → saweat → atebuy → bought take → tookmake → madeget → got come → camewrite → wrotesay → said think → thoughtfind → foundmeet → met

Práctica — completa con el pasado correcto

1. Yesterday, I ___ (walk) to school because it was sunny.
2. She ___ (not / go) to the party last night.
3. ___ you ___ (see) that movie last weekend?
4. We ___ (have) a great time at the beach.
5. He ___ (not / finish) his homework on time.
6. They ___ (buy) new shoes yesterday.
7. I ___ (not / eat) breakfast this morning.
8. ___ she ___ (write) the email?
Mostrar respuestas (solo Caro)
1. walked · 2. didn't go · 3. Did you see · 4. had · 5. didn't finish · 6. bought · 7. didn't eat · 8. Did she write
15–27 min 🧠 Third person -s

Regla rápida

Con he/she/it en presente simple, el verbo lleva -s (likes, plays) o -es después de ch/sh/ss/x/o (watches, does), y consonante+y cambia a -ies (study → studies).

Errores típicos: "he don't like" → "he doesn't like" · "she like" → "she likes" · "it have" → "it has"

Práctica — completa o corrige

1. My sister ___ (like) chocolate.
2. He ___ (not / like) spicy food.
3. ___ your brother ___ (play) football?
4. She ___ (study) English every day.
5. It ___ (not / rain) much in summer here.
6. Corrige: "She don't like coffee."
7. Corrige: "He go to school by bus."
Mostrar respuestas (solo Caro)
1. likes · 2. doesn't like · 3. Does your brother play · 4. studies · 5. doesn't rain · 6. She doesn't like coffee. · 7. He goes to school by bus.
27–37 min 🔗 Conectar ideas (linking words)

andbutbecause soalthoughhoweveralso

Práctica — une las dos oraciones

1. I was tired. I went to bed early.
2. She likes pizza. She doesn't like mushrooms.
3. He studied hard. He passed the exam.
4. It was raining. We played outside.
5. I like music. I like sports.
Mostrar respuestas de ejemplo (solo Caro)
1. I was tired, so I went to bed early. · 2. She likes pizza, but she doesn't like mushrooms. · 3. He studied hard, so he passed the exam. · 4. Although it was raining, we played outside. · 5. I like music, and I also like sports.
ANSWER + REASON + DETAIL (con past tense y third person correctos)

• What did you do last weekend?
• Did you see any friends last week? What did you do together?
• What's your best friend like? (practica third person)
• What does your mom or dad do? Tell me about their job.
• Why did you choose that answer in the reading test last class?

"Write about last weekend. What did you do? What did a friend or family member do? Use at least 2 linking words (and, but, because, so, although, however). Don't forget capital 'I'!"

Homework obligatorio

  • 10 oraciones completando past tense (regulares e irregulares).
  • 5 oraciones completando third person -s.

Hoy: Writing — email y article/story

"Let's check your homework together. Read me your paragraph out loud, and let's fix anything together."

  • Opening: "Hi Chloe, Thanks for your email. It was great to hear from you."
  • Giving opinion: "I think that..."
  • Giving reasons: "The main reason is that..."
  • Adding information: "Also, I think..." / "I also..."
  • Contrast: "However,..."
  • Suggestion: "Why don't we...?"
  • Closing: "Write back soon. Best wishes,"
Aquí es donde entran los linking words de la Clase 2 (and, but, because, so, although, however) — pídele que los use dentro de estas frases, no como ejercicio aparte.
20–35 min ✍️ Práctica — escribir el email
"Now you have 15 minutes to write an email. Try to write around 80–100 words. Use at least one linking word and check your past tense and third person."

Tarea para Valeria

You have received an email from your English friend Chloe. Read part of her email:

"Last weekend I went to a new sports centre and I loved it! What did you do last weekend? Do you like doing sports? What's your favourite one?"

Write an email to Chloe. Answer her questions and tell her about your weekend.

Estructura¿Tiene opening y closing claros?
35–45 min 📖 Intro a Article/Story

FirstAfter thatThen SuddenlyFinallyIn the end

Práctica corta — continúa la historia

"Your teacher has asked you to write a story. Your story must begin with this sentence: 'Last Saturday, Valeria woke up and looked out of the window.'"

45–50 min Cierre + homework

Homework obligatorio

  • Terminar la historia de "Valeria woke up and looked out of the window" (80–100 palabras), usando al menos 3 palabras de secuencia.

No hace falta corregirlo hoy, solo ubicarte.
0–5 min Introducción

Dile a Valeria, en inglés:

"Today we're going to look at your own story and email from last class. This is great writing — now let's make it even stronger by fixing a few patterns together."

1. Lo que escribió:

"she saw Unicorn and dinosaur"
Ver corrección
"she saw a unicorn and a dinosaur" — con sustantivos contables en singular, casi siempre necesitas a/an.

2. Lo que escribió:

"she went to the bed and slept"
Ver corrección
"she went to bed" — con "bed", "school", "work" en su sentido habitual, NO se usa artículo.

3. Lo que escribió:

"I went to a party of Ana my friend"
Ver corrección
"I went to Ana's party" (o "a party at my friend Ana's house") — para posesión de personas, usa 's en vez de "of".

a. "I have dog." → ___
b. "That is book of my sister." → ___
c. "We saw elephant at the zoo." → ___
Respuestas
a. I have a dog. · b. That is my sister's book. · c. We saw an elephant at the zoo.

1. Lo que escribió:

"she found out that this are a dream"
Ver corrección
"she found out that it was a dream" — "this/it" es singular, va con "was", no "are".

2. Lo que escribió:

"I am happy because do you like the sport centre"
Ver corrección
"I am happy because you like the sports centre" — después de "because" va una afirmación normal, no la estructura de pregunta (do you like).

3. Lo que escribió:

"I went to a party ... also went to a restaurant and to my gymnastic class"
Ver corrección
"I went to a party. I also went to a restaurant and to my gymnastics class." — en inglés, a diferencia del español, el sujeto (I / she / he) casi nunca se puede omitir.

Práctica rápida

a. "My brother is tall. Play basketball every day." → ___
b. "The information are useful." → ___
Respuestas
a. My brother is tall. He plays basketball every day. · b. The information is useful.

thougththought
dicorveddiscovered
nigthnight
offcourseof course (dos palabras)
"tell me more of your weekend""tell me more about your weekend"
"i wait the next email""I can't wait for your next email" / "I'm looking forward to hearing from you"
"my favorites are gymnastic""my favourite sport is gymnastics"

1. "Hi chloe, thanks for your email"
2. "i am happy because..."
3. "when she dicorved this she played with them"
4. "she saw Unicorn and dinosaur"
Respuestas
1. "Hi Chloe" (nombre propio) · 2. "I am happy" (siempre mayúscula) · 3. "When she discovered this..." (inicio de oración) · 4. "she saw a unicorn" (sustantivo común, minúscula)

1. "she found out that this are a dream"
2. "I have dog and it is very big"
3. "i wait the next email, see yo next time"

Hoy: Simulacro completo — examen bajo condiciones reales

"Today is a full practice exam, just like the real one. I won't help you or correct you during the test — try your best and use your instincts. We'll go through everything together at the end, so don't worry about small mistakes now."

Part 3 — True or False

Every Saturday morning, the small town of Millbrook holds a farmers' market in the central square. Local farmers bring fresh fruit, vegetables and cheese to sell directly to visitors. The market started fifteen years ago with just five stalls, but today there are more than forty. Many people say the atmosphere is what makes it special — there's usually live music, and children can enjoy free activities like face painting. The market only takes place in summer, from May to September, because the square isn't covered and gets too cold in winter.
7. The market happens every day. TRUE / FALSE
8. The market is bigger now than when it started. TRUE / FALSE
9. There is live music at the market. TRUE / FALSE

26–41 min ✍️ Writing (15 min)

Part 1 — Email (obligatoria, 10 min)

"You have 10 minutes for this part. Write around 80–100 words. Don't use a translator or dictionary."

You have received this email from your English friend, Jack:

Hi! I'm thinking about learning a new sport next year. Do you play any sports? What do you like about it? Would you recommend it to me? Write soon, Jack

Write an email to Jack. Answer all three questions.

Part 2 — Elige UNA opción (5 minutos)

Opción A — Story: your story must begin with this sentence:

"As soon as Valeria opened the door, she knew something was different."

Opción B — Article: write a short article for your school English magazine.

Write about your favourite way to spend a free afternoon. Say what you do, who you do it with, and why you enjoy it.

Part 1 — Preguntas personales (2 min)

• What's your name?
• Where do you live?
• Tell me about your school.
• What do you usually do at the weekend?
• Do you prefer reading books or watching movies? Why?

Part 2 — Turno individual extendido (1 min)

"I'm going to describe a situation and I want you to talk about it for about a minute. Imagine you are planning a birthday party for a friend. Talk about what you would do to organize it — where, when, who to invite, and what food and activities you would include."

Part 3 — Tarea colaborativa (3 min)

"You and your friend want to choose an activity for Saturday afternoon. Look at these options and decide together which one is best."
A. Go to the cinema
B. Visit a museum
C. Have a picnic in the park
D. Go bowling

Exige que use frases de la lista de Recursos (I think we should choose... / What do you think? / I agree with you. / Maybe we could...).

Part 4 — Discusión general (3 min)

• Do you prefer spending your free time with friends or alone? Why?
• What's the most fun thing you've done with friends recently?
• Do you think it's important to try new activities? Why / why not?

Ficha comparativa — Clase 1 (diagnóstico) vs. Clase 6 (simulacro)

PruebaClase 1Clase 6 (hoy)
Reading7 / 8
Listening6 / 6
Writing9 / 12
SpeakingBien, excepto Development

4 focos vocabulario, tiempo, pasado, preguntas indirectas

"This is our last class before your exam. Your reading and listening are already really strong. Today we're going to fix a few small things from the mock exam, and finish with one last quick timed practice so you feel completely ready."

Lo que escribió: "She was exciting about her exam results" → correcto: "She was excited about her exam results. The results were exciting."

Regla 2 — colocaciones frecuentes en B1

good at (not "for") make a decision (not "take") take a photo do homework have a shower take a break make a mistake

Práctica — completa

1. My sister is really good ___ maths. (at/for)
2. I need to ___ a decision about the trip. (make/take)
3. He was ___ (bore/bored/boring) during the long meeting.
4. That movie was really ___ (excite/excited/exciting) — I loved it!
5. Can you ___ a photo of us? (take/make/do)
Mostrar respuestas (solo Caro)
1. at · 2. make · 3. bored · 4. exciting · 5. take

Lo que escribió: "...when she returns to the bed she saw a monkey teddy..." → correcto: "...when she went back to bed, she saw a monkey teddy..."

TareaReparto sugerido

"Now let's practise finishing on time. You have 9 minutes. Your story must begin with this sentence: 'The phone rang, and Valeria knew exactly who it was.' Use at least 2 sequencing words (First, Then, After that, Suddenly, Finally, In the end), and keep everything in the past tense — check this yourself before time is up."

28–38 min ❓ Preguntas indirectas (embedded questions)

Después de frases como "tell me", "can you tell me", "I wonder", "I don't know", la pregunta pierde el do/does/did y vuelve al orden normal de afirmación.

Lo que escribió: "tell me what do you select and why" → correcto: "tell me what you select and why" (o mejor: "tell me which one you choose and why").

Más ejemplos

Pregunta directaPregunta indirecta (con "tell me" / "I don't know")
Where does she live? Can you tell me where she lives?
What did he say?I don't know what he said.
Why are you late?Tell me why you are late.

Práctica — convierte en pregunta indirecta

1. What time does the class start? → Can you tell me...?
2. Where did she go? → I don't know...
3. What do you want for dinner? → Tell me...
4. Why is he crying? → I wonder...
Mostrar respuestas (solo Caro)
1. Can you tell me what time the class starts? · 2. I don't know where she went. · 3. Tell me what you want for dinner. · 4. I wonder why he is crying.
38–48 min 🎯 Mini simulacro final — email cronometrado
"Last practice before the real exam. You have 8 minutes — try to use everything we fixed today: correct collocations, past tense if you tell a story, and finish on time."

You have received this email from your English friend, Alex:

Hi! Last weekend I tried a new restaurant in town and it was amazing. Have you tried any new places recently? What did you think of it? Would you recommend it? Write soon, Alex

Write an email to Alex. Answer all three questions. 80–100 words, 8 minutes.

Checklist rápido al terminar

☐ ¿Terminó dentro del tiempo?
☐ ¿Usó bien las colocaciones (good at, make a decision, etc.)?
☐ ¿Usó mayúscula en "I" siempre?

  • Opening: "Hi Emma, Thanks for your email. It was great to hear from you."
  • Giving opinion: "I think that..."
  • Giving reasons: "The main reason is that..."
  • Adding information: "Also, I think..."
  • Contrast: "However,..."
  • Suggestion: "Why don't we...?"
  • Closing: "Write back soon. Best wishes,"
andbutbecause soalthoughhowever

También cubrir: pasado/presente/futuro, comparativos, modales (can, could, should, must), expresiones de opinión y sugerencia, preguntas indirectas sencillas.

🗣️ Speaking — fórmula para extender respuestas

ANSWER + REASON + DETAIL

❌ A2: "I like watching movies."
✅ Mejor: "I like watching movies because they are relaxing. I usually watch movies with my family at the weekend."

Frases para la parte colaborativa

I think we should choose... What do you think? I agree with you. I'm not sure about that. Maybe we could... That's a good idea. Why don't we...?

🎧 Listening — estrategia

Predict → Listen → Confirm

Antes del audio, que subraye mentalmente: quién, dónde, cuándo, qué, número, precio, opinión, razón.

Ejemplo de distractor (muy importante practicarlo)

"I wanted to go on Saturday, but unfortunately I'm working that day. Sunday would be better."

La respuesta no es Saturday — es Sunday. Cambridge mete la opción "obvia" primero y la corrige después.

📖 Reading — estrategia

  1. Read the question first.
  2. Identify keywords.
  3. Find the relevant part.
  4. Eliminate wrong answers.
  5. Don't translate everything.

Entrenar mucho: sinónimos, paráfrasis, palabras que cambian el significado, referencias (it, they, this, these), conectores, vocabulario contextual.
